So, if you have a great collection of vintage fruit crates, then you can play around with them to create the exact size and dimensions you want for your retro coffee table.

Now, there will be some screws involved in building this Vintage Fruit Crate Coffee Table. They are optional if you feel like your vintage fruit crates are sturdy enough with out them. If you have small kids, you want to use the screws for safety.

Now, take about three to four of your vintage fruit crates and line them up in a row. Use your power drill and pre drill holes on the left and right sides where the vintage fruit crates touch.

Now, slip a bolt in through the hole and add on a nut to secure them. Repeat this process until your retro coffee table base as wide as you want.

Now, start working up.

Stack one vintage fruit crate up on top. You can lay these like bricks or line them up exactly.

Now, pre drill a hole in through the bottom of the top crate, down into the wood of the bottom vintage wood fruit crate. Use a screw this time to attach them together for a stable coffee table.

Repeat this moving along the second layer.

Now, so many vintage fruit crates are just vastly different sizes. You may need these screws to build a stable coffee table base out of different sized pieces.

At this point you can add another row if needed to make your table taller.

Now, top off the vintage fruit crates with a pieces of beveled glass and you have a one of a kind coffee table for your industrial loft or retro home! You can also use the top crates to hold magazines!
