Finding a good local coffee shop is sometimes hard unless you try many of them out. This following guide will give you a good idea which coffee shop is right for you in the Durham, NH area.
- Young's Restaurant & Coffee Shop
Young's is a great breakfast restaurant in the heart of Durham; Young's has been around for 89 years and is a local favorite. Many students and locals enjoy Young's every morning; if you are from the area expect to see someone you know. The prices range from $2.39-9.59 for breakfast, I believe the coffee is in the range of $1.50-2 range, and is all you can drink. This local coffee shop is located on 48 Main Street, Durham, NH and serves both breakfast and lunch or just coffee. Young's is a great local restaurant I suggest you try it, it's one of my favorite coffee shops/restaurants in Durham. Young's is open for breakfast and lunch.
- The Bagelry
The Bagelry is another local favorite; they offer many different breakfast pastries, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The Bagelry offers many different varieties of coffees, smoothies and other drinks. The coffee quality is very good especially with the different varieties there is always something new to try. This local coffee shop always has fresh breakfast foods at a reasonable price. The Bagelry is located in the Durham Market Place plaza, 54 Mill Road Plaza. The Bagelry is an excellent local coffee shop that is a favorite for many UNH students and locals. The Bagelry also supports the local Oyster River school district by providing free cookies and bagels for competitors in the "bagel challenge" where the local middle school students run a mile and get a bagel certificate for a good performance, and a cookie for improved performance. The Bagelry has varying hours but open around 6 on the weekdays and is open relatively late in the afternoon.
- Breaking New Grounds
Breaking New Grounds is another great local coffee shop that specializes in coffee and other specialty drinks. This local coffee shop has free Wi-Fi in the shop, along with tables and couches that allow you to work while enjoying your great coffee. Breaking New Grounds is a bit on the higher end of the price range so expect to be paying $3+ for anything but a basic coffee. They also offer different breakfast pastries which I suggest you try when you visit this coffee shop; they are a great addition to the coffee. There is a big variety of different flavors and brands of coffees from regular to exotic.
